Mobile Treatment Unit

A vehicle mounted Septage Treatment Solution, which can process 6000 liters of Sewage per hour. Quality of the treated water is tested & validated by Central Pollution Control Board.

MTU is an on-site faecal-sludge treatment technology. It is a treatment system that is able to treat the contents of septic tanks, installed on the bed of a small truck. The MTU-treated septage effluent meets India's disposal standards. The on-site mobile treatment unit works with the concept of solid-liquid separation, sludge thickening, and effluent treatment processes. While the liquid is separated from the solid, the effluent passes through the treatment process and disposes the treated effluent. The sludge thickening process helps further in reducing the moisture content in the sludge. The capacity of the mobile treatment unit is 6000 L/Hour.

Approved by Govt. of India- Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, Ministry of Jalsakthi, and Principal Scientific Advisor’s Office to Prime Minster. Technology evaluated by BITS, RTI, Duke, IITs etc.

Approvals & Accreditations

MTU has been tested and validated by National & International Institutions such as Duke University, US in 2017; RTI international, US in 2019; BITS Pilani, Goa in 2020. MTU has also received many awards and accreditations.

• Letter issued by Secretary of MoHUA (July 12, 2019) to Chief Secretaries of all states regarding the steps that need to be taken on an urgent basis to stop manual desludging of septic tanks and in the Annexure no. 7, MTU has been mentioned as an eligible product/process examined through technology challenge available through Emergency Response Sanitation Unit (ERSU) with MoHUA.
